It's a bit of a joke at our house, my exercise routine. Let me explain before the assumptions begin...

I love to run. It's something that in a short time I can get pretty good at. At one point I was running six miles a day. It was the best I have ever felt! The issue, as it is for most women I talk to, is sticking with it for longer than a few months at a time. The joke, as I mentioned, is that my husband who works out at 4am almost every single day, still can't believe how even after the treadmill and I aren't on good terms [aka It is covered in dust and I avoid the room it is in at all costs] I can somehow manage to jump back on and it's as if I barely took time off.

Here is where I am going with all of this:::
In my third trimester I was too swollen and uncomfortable to get on my treadmill. I couldnt even fit my feet into my running shoes. No, really...you should have seen me...but any pictures of me were put under lock and key never to be seen again [laugh, but it's true]

I was cleared to start running again about 8 weeks post C's birth. I was about to go back to work, but made it my priority to get on the treadmill everyday.

Then I started at work again. Ugh. Between daycare runs, grocery store runs, being involved in three social groups here in Dallas/Fort worth and getting some sort of rest...my treadmill and I stopped seeing each other.

One month later...Today marks a new day. Today we meet again! I can't wait! My pre-pregnancy jeans [that fit, but are tight] shall fit again! The hubby is picking up our little munchkin and I am headed home to get on the treadmill.

Hello, Old Friend! I am
So looking forward to our time together! :)

back in the game. game=kitchen

I was so happy to start cooking again! Last weekend we had Chris' grandparents in for a visit. I couldn't wait to get back in the kitchen and prepare a special meal.

I cooked a Rosemary Chicken with Maple Orange Glaze
&
Served it on a bed of rice.

As a side I made twice baked sweet potatoes with pecans and sweet marshmallows melted on top.

For dessert we had Apple Pie served with fresh whipped cream & a scoop of vanilla blue bell.

It was a good night & dinner was a success!

OH &....Breakfast was a hit, too. Pumpkin pancakes with pecans & cheesy eggs! Yum!

Have a great Wednesday! <3

Oh! Hello, 25th Birthday week! <3

Two mornings of sleeping in.
Which means an extra 30 minutes
and not taking C to daycare! My hubby rocks!

& boy does that 30 minutes make a difference.
I actually attempt makeup and a cute outfit in those extra precious moments. And PS I bet my co-workers appreciate that I take that time, too! Yesterday I rocked
Fall boots, a black pencil skirt, a comfy sweater and
topped it off with a leopard print scarf

Yeah.
It was one of those 'I feel pretty' days!

Just the beginning of...
FALL FOOD

As Fall begins we have started to do less of meeting friends at restaurants
and instead having more dinner parties! : )
{I LOVE DINNER PARTIES!}
[The social, yet laid back dinner party feel is my favorite]

Warm stews, fresh breads, caramel apples, baked apples, hot tea and cookies.

Last night I baked a delicious pumpkin pie, made homemade whipped cream, added a scoop of vanilla ice cream & a sprinkle of cinnamon! It was a total hit & the presentation was fabulous!

Hello Fall recipes & yummy baked goods! Let Fall Food posting begin!

Hope y'all are saving your favorite Fall recipes!

Sunday Funday.

I <3 Mimi's brunch
 &
it has become a tradition that we go there with the Tallo family.
My favorite: a low-fat blueberry muffin & one of their delicious omelets.

We decided to watch the service online this morning.
So as soon as it finished I threw my go-to outfit on,
 put C in her carseat,
grabbed the diaper bag and we ran out the door.

What did I wear? This:

Old Navy Cropped Jacket

Gap Soft V-neck T-shirt

A pair of dark skinny jeans. {cuffed at the bottom}

sidenote:::i love these sam edelman shoes! <3

 Beautiful Blouses

A Fall trend I can't seem to ignore is the bow blouse.

Here are a few of my top {and affordable} picks:::

I love that this is a bit longer in the back and has the low neckline
 taking away
from the parachute look that often goes along with a loose blouse.

Nordstrom Remain Tie Neck Satin Blouse $88

I love this blouse! It gives the feminine waistline while still having the bow blouse look.
Perfect under a blazer for work and then with a great pair of jeans & heels at night!

BCBG 'Celline' Tie Neck Top $168

I see this paired with a pair of dark jeans, very high heels *wink*, and a big statement ring or bracelet.

Forever 21 Bow Front Button Up $24.80

There are so many feminine, beautiful blouses out there.
Can't wait to see everyone wearing them this Fall.

Leopard Love

Lets face the facts...leopard print is everywhere we look this Fall.
So since we are all going to be adding pieces of leopard to our wardrobe
I figured I would post a few of my top picks!

{the pieces that dreams are made of}:::

Do I even need to tell you the brand?? haha
Christian Louboutin 'Bianca' Leopard Print Platform Pump

Salvatore Ferragamo 'Fedele' Nylon tote

Prada 'Cavallino ' Leopard Print Hair Calf Top-handle Brief

I know this one isn't leopard on the outside,
but how perfect is this bag with the hint of leopard 'peeking' out!
Fendi Leopard Print Calf Hair Peekaboo bag
[this could possibly top the charts as my favorite bag for Fall/Winter!]

{my more affordable and realistic dreams *wink*}:::

Aldo Leopard Print Scarf

Coach Madison ocelot op art sophia satchel
I love the wallet and wristlet that match. If I don't get the bag, one of those might make it into my collection.

Sperry Top-Sider 'Brantpoint' Calf Hair Loafer

Sam Edelman 'Wesley' Wedges
{Pair these with dark, long flared jeans and a loose fitting, tucked in top for a relaxed, yet trendy, look}

Banana Republic Mad Men Collection Leopard print belt
{I am kinda, sorta obsessed with this belt...buy it this weekend? I THINK YES}

Last but not least, a good pair {or two} of heels to compliment every outfit...

Steve Madden 'Bevvv-L'

Sam Edelman 'Portney'

{the pieces that nightmares are made of}:::
leopard print gone wrong...way wrong

Hope all of you fashionistas find your purrrfect leopard accessory for Fall!
