Silly Silly SILLY BANDZ

Never once would I have guessed
that I would be one to have a
'silly band'...
I do.

While out to dinner in
Fort Worth
celebrating a
friends birthday
we noticed that our
server had a loot of silly bandz on.

Of course I asked him what
ones he had
&
where he got them.

His answer was exciting...

HE HAD MORE
&
WANTED TO SHARE!

So folks...

I am the proud owner of a
pink dinosaur shape silly band

why do I have a feeling that
this is only the beginning?

So I am a huge fan of these

chain necklaces!

All the designers are bringing

this look to the runway.

So I am posting this for one reason

& one reason only....

Chris' reaction when

I told him I like this look.

I showed him a bunch of pictures.

a couple of which are posted above.

within minutes I had e-mails from him.

this is what I saw...

Trifle Queen.

I have declared myself the

TRIFLE QUEEN

for the summer...

but the exciting

thing is that

we can all be

trifle queens!

I made this one last week

for a girls night

& it was a hit!

Even one of my

beautiful friends who

is amazing in

the kitchen enjoyed it!

yay!

this one had...

vanilla pudding.

strawberry jam.

fresh whipped cream.

strawberries.

blueberries.

raspberries.

& a type of shortcake that I created

and cut into tiny squares.

I say I created it, because

I took a bunch of

fun ingredients out of

the cupboard. mixed them all up.

& put them at 390 degrees

until cooked through

& VOILA <3

have a fabulous evening, loves.

We recently took a trip to

San Francisco

to celebrate JP & Julia's engagement!

I loved every minute of it!

Wine Tasting in Napa.

Walking Around SF.

Grabbing hot chocolate on the pier.

Trying delicious cheeses.

Cooking up a storm.

& much needed quality time with friends.

JP & Julia

are getting married on

September 11, 2010!

This means Chris & are are heading back

to San Francisco!

I can hardly wait!

I love Southern Cookin'

They have the best desserts

in the South.

Today I have decided is a great day

to post a simple, but DELICIOUS

BANANA PUDDING DESSERT!

a bunch of bananas [about six]

two packets of jello brand banana pudding

[sugar free is fine, but regular is yummier]

nilla wafers [one box]

heavy whipping cream [the more the better!]

Make the pudding. Slice the bananas.

whip the cream with plenty of sugar

[you can't have two much when

you're trying to impress]

Then LaYer LAyEr LAYeR.

It doesn't get any easier

than this...

& if you're feeling like

joining me on the trifle train

this summer you can make

a banana pudding

trifle! <3

I made one the other day for a pool

party & it was a HIT!

'Best Friends Forever'

My Mother-in-law just got back from

La Jolla, California where she attended

her high school reunion.

This got me thinking about high school.

Seems like only yesterday, but wow...

six years have gone by.

These girls were my life in high school!

Graduating class of '04

my wedding in Nov 2009.

How special that they were both

in my wedding! Ten years of friendship!

I hope that everyone can say that

they have friendships as long lasting & amazing as mine!

The Summer of Trifles.

I have declared this summer

a summer of trifle making.

These desserts are beautifully

classy, delicious & so easy to make.

Grab your trifle bowl & create.

The possibilities are endless...

vanilla, chocolate, raspberries,

strawberries, blueberries, bananas,

sugar, jello,

jams, syrups, liquor,

puddings, whipped cream...

[only use fresh whipped cream...

if you don't know how to

make it...LEARN. It only takes

a few minutes & is 100% worth it!!!]

Last summer

we went with the Hub's family

to Estes Park, Colorado

& it was stunning!

I am so excited for September

to come when we will make the trip

back to Colorado & the beautiful Estes Park.

Days filled with hiking and nights filled

with chats by the fire, looking through

old photo albums & staying warm

under electric blankets.

I love the simplicity & peace up there.

It is a beautiful thing.

A HUGE congratulations goes out to

Kaylin & Doug!

My long time friends got engaged in Italy

just last month & I could not be happier!

He proposed right in front of the Colosseum.

What a perfect engagement!

Congrats you two! <3

I absolutely LOVE to bake...

that said

cooking for me is another story.

I love to create in the kitchen,

but I'm just now exploring

the fact that there are things to be made

other than

cakes, pies, cookies & sweets <3

A perfect start was this white pizza.

Simple & Delicious.

Dough. Cheese. Garlic. Basil.

add a glass of red wine & you're set!

I'll start posting more of my cooking adventures

Fort Worth & Dallas.

I love Texas & I love being so close to

two completely different places.

Fort Worth is TEXAN to a 'T'

BBQ , Cattle & Cowboy boots

Dallas is a citayyy.

Complete with the upscale shopping

& trendy bars.

The best of both worlds. <3

The Hubs & I just had the anniversary of our engagement.

Last year we spent a week overlooking the breathtaking

Pender Island just outside of Vancouver.

After a day of kayaking, sailing & reading...

and with his parents & grandparents there to celebrate

he proposed down on the dock by the water.

What an amazing trip that was

& what an amazing man I call my husband.
